About:
My husband Nick and I have three children and one goofy lab named Fred. We have lived here in our old house on Lincoln Street since 2006.

Education & Qualifications:
I have a Master’s degree in Teaching as well as a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Communication from the University of Maine. My thesis research was on culinary tourism, hegemony, and a Western gaze as evidenced in Anthony Bourdain’s text and television program, entitled “A Cook’s Tour.”
I recently completed a graduate school course on Early Language Development and Literacy and am an active member in the Maine Roads to Quality Professional Development Network.
I hold a valid Maine Teacher's Certification, a Family Childcare license through the State of Maine, am CPR & First Aid Certified and am a part of the the USDA Food Nutritional Food Program.
Work Experience:
After university, I worked at Puritan Medical Products and then spent seven years teaching English and Social Studies at SeDoMoCha Middle School. I left the public school classroom in 2016 in order to stay home with my young children. Additionally, I taught Sunday School for the Dover-Foxcroft Congregational Church from 2016-2020.
Volunteer Experience:
I have served on the Thompson Free Library’s Executive Board for the past 12 years and have a deep love of children’s literature! I also served on the DF Congregational Church's Christian Education Board for 5 years.
Professional Development:
I recently completed a graduate school course on Early Language Development and Literacy and am an active member in the Maine Roads to Quality Professional Development Network.
As for professional texts, I am influenced by the work of Maria Montessori, Simone Davies The Montessori Toddler, and Kim John Payne's Simplicity Parenting. I love to learn with and from children and look forward to learning alongside yours!
